Camouflaging Skin Discoloration & Scars
Nearly all of us have some sort of skin discoloration caused by such things as age and sun spots, or scars from injuries and surgeries. But for some, areas of skin discoloration whether it is skin lightening in patches due to Vitiligo, or skin darkening as a result of scarring from blisters, burns, injuries, post-surgical scars, or acne can lead to low self-esteem and body insecurities.
The good news is these areas of concern can be covered and virtually erased through a process called Corrective Pigment Camouflage (CPC) (also known as Micropigmentation, Corrective Camouflage, and Skin Repigmentation). CPC is achieved by tattooing the area using specialized flesh tone pigments that match your skin. The procedure is performed by a Certified Micropigmentation/Paramedical Tattoo artist who has been expertly trained to understand the science behind pigments and the physiology of human skin and tissue. Many people who have spent years with skin discoloration or scars find CPC to be an excellent, inexpensive, and virtually pain-free solution to correcting hyper and hypo skin pigmentation issues.
For those who have skin discoloration accompanied by skin texture changes (concave or lumpy skin) caused by such things as acne scarring or stretch marks, can also find relief with another technique called Microneedling (also known as Collagen Induction Therapy). Microneedling works by creating microscopic punctures in the scar tissue, thereby stimulating the body’s natural collagen production, helping blood capillaries reach the surface. The result is improved skin tone and color, smoother texture, and a reduction of the three-dimensional appearance of the scar.
Fabulously Flawless performs Microneedling using Rejuvapen, a small, pen-shaped device comprised of nine tiny microneedles that penetrate the skin to trigger the skin’s natural healing process. The skin then creates its new stores of collagen and elastin, two of the fundamental building blocks of smooth, healthy skin.
